From the birth of the new millenium on, The Revolvers are on their
journey, dominating every shithole (however tiny it may be) with their
powerful songs ? soaked with alcohol- and it`s all about love and hate.
In this early state, but just in time the indie label Radioblast
Records is on the bill and ready to release their debut 7" EP with the
promising name Rock`n`Roll Babylon, which is sold out within next to
no time.
Obviously Wolverine Records from Dusseldorf seems to like the band and
invites the group to participate in the popular CD compilation series
Punk Chartbusters Vol. 4, which the Revolvers do with a Ronettes
coverversion of "Then he kissed me"
Due to their massive live appearances and their releases, the Revolvers
draw the attention of People Like You Records, who sign the " shooting
stars" after having bizarre negotiations . February 2002 sees the
release of their debut album A Tribute To Cliches which brings them
right to the top in one.
Duane Peters is so keen on them, that he, too, chooses a song from the
Tribute To Cliches album for his Compilation series Old skars and
Upstarts, released in august 2002.
It`s raining with positive reviews in the music press , germany and
abroad, and ? even more important for the band ? inquiries for gigs and
tours from all over the punk rock world.
From the release of their debut album early 2002 to the end of summer
2003, they are touring to the limit ? visiting Spain, Italy, Czech
republic, Austria, Hungary ect. with the greatest highlight being the
extraordinary People like you festival tour. At these shows they
support acts like Hanoi Rocks, The Boys, Dead Kennedys, The Bones,
Backyard Babies, just to name a few. Also they keep playing smaller
festivals in germany and all europe. At the same time, next to this they
absolve quite a few recording sessions, some of them making their way to
several compilation tracks. Five songs see the light on the split LP
with Duane Peters and the Hunns named The artist formerly known as
rebellion, released on Dirty Faces Records in September 2002. The
remaining 2 tracks from this session , including the Tribute to cliches
album track "I send you a rock star postcard from L.A." are to be found
on the 7" EP of the same title, which is released on Green Hell Records
in March 2003.
A rest seems to be welcome, but "the show must go on", so it`s of to
the Blue Box Studios and its producers Guido "George" Lucas and Tilo
Schenk once again, who are responsible for the successful debut, too,
to record the following End of apathy album, which will be given birth
on September 22th, again with the help of People like you records.
Coming up, thereīs plans for a new Tour in Germany and abroad end of
2003 - early 2004.
