ANDREW PALEY - Deutschland Tour
Der New Yorker Songwriter ANDREW PALEY wird im Dezember erneut auf Tour kommen, um sein aktuelles Album "SIRENS" (Make My Day Records / Indigo) vorzustellen.
Ein Wanderer zwischen den Welten, so könnte man Andrew Paley bezeichnen. Auf der einen Seite die schweißtreibende Post Punk Band The Static Age die vor allem in den Staaten erfolgreich veröffentlicht und tourt und auf der anderen Seite seine behutsam sich im Aufbau befindliche Solokarriere. Soweit keine neue Geschichte, solo aktive Frontmänner gibt es ja nicht wenige, den Unterschied aber macht die Musik. Weit weg von Post Punk oder Lagerfeuerromantik ist es die ungeheuer intime Atmosphäre seiner Songs und der Art sie zu präsentieren die hier die Solo Aktivitäten wirklich rechtfertigt. Dreht man die Anlage ein wenig auf, kann man die Songs und den Raum in dem sie entstanden sind quasi fühlen, man wähnt sich mittendrin, eine Nähe die man erstmal zulassen muss angesichts der auch textlichen Reife und Ausdruckskraft. Wollte man es auf Bekanntes runterbrechen, so könnte man als die sich ergänzenden Grundpfeiler Elliot Smith, Bon Iver und Active Child nennen. Man könnte auch sagen, dass es nicht von ungefähr kommt, dass er mit Garrett Klahn (of Texas is the Reason), Karl Larsson (of Last Days of April), The Lion And The Wolf, Adam Rubenstein (of Chamberlain) tourte. Brüder im Geiste, was musikalische Freiheiten angeht.

ARCHITECTS ANNOUNCE 2018 EUROPEAN TOUR
ARCHITECTS have announced a European/UK Tour in January and February 2018. The tour will include some of the biggest venues the band has played in mainland Europe to date, as well as their first arena show in UK – at the Alexandra Palace in London. While She Sleeps will be supporting on all dates.

BLACKBOOK PREMIERES DOE PAORO SONG “FADING INTO BLACK”
BlackBook is premiering a new song by acclaimed singer and musician Doe Paoro. The darkly beautifully and soulful track is entitled “Fading Into Black.”

Writing about her last record, Nylon proclaimed that “Paoro creates songs that are at once intimate and expansive, with lyrics that travel a wide emotional terrain between the poles of love and loss.” This sentiment holds true and then some on “Fading Into Black,” which powerfully showcase Paoro’s expressive singing and imaginative songwriting. It also comes with a timely context that lends it some additional resonance.
As Doe Paoro explains, “I had originally written this song in Los Angeles and went to London to record it, along with the rest of my album. We recorded this song on November 8th. I had been up since 3 am, hitting refresh on my phone over and over again -- each time hoping for a different result - as I watched the U.S. election play out from my tiny room in London.
I'll never forget the feeling on the ride to the studio that morning; red-eyed and the sad waddle of the bus back and forth and the rain and all the people and their newspapers. But really, the most specific feeling was related to this sense of being out of sync with time: I had been up for hours and yet it was morning for most other people on the bus and suddenly it felt time was not so neutral anymore. I wanted to take the last 12 hours back and change what had happened, but we all know how that story goes...
When I got into the vocal booth, I could not sing the original lyrics to this song. I was so overpowered with anger and regret. So I wrote the new lyrics on the spot and we recorded it; it came effortlessly and the song felt fated to arrive on that day. For me it's about personal regret over collective decisions, and the choices the collective makes that feel like they are made from a place of fear rather than hope.
It’s very sad to me that this song feels so prescient. Here we are in America in August of 2017, mourning Charlottesville, marching against white supremacy and our degenerate government that has complete disregard for the health of its citizens and our planet. I feel like we are constantly grieving and protesting. Maybe that’s just what needs to happen for something to shift.”
Doe Paoro will join label mate and sometimes collaborator Son Little for a series of North American tour dates starting in September.

ERIK COHEN – Tour und neues Album Anfang 2018
Nach "Nostalgie Für Die Zukunft" (2014) und "Weisses Rauschen" (2016) erscheint Anfang des kommenden Jahres das dritte, noch unbetitelte Album von ERIK COHEN. Der Kieler feiert dies im Rahmen einer Frühjahrstournee quer durch die Republik.
Wer Erik Cohens Vita kennt, weiß, dass er sich künstlerisch ungern wiederholt und viel eher dazu neigt, sein Publikum mit neuen Ansätzen zu überraschen. Seine ureigenen klanglichen Trademarks behält er dabei allerdings konsequent im Auge. Spielte sein letztes Album noch weitläufig mit Wave, den unterschiedlichsten Spielarten des Rock und klassischen Pop-Ansätzen, stehen uns 2018 die wohl geradlinigsten, treibendsten Songs des sympathischen Norddeutschen ins Haus.
Neue Hörproben gibt es soweit nicht, wohl aber die ersten Konzerttermine zum dritten Langspieler. Auch wenn wir musikalisch noch etwas im Nebel stochern, gilt als verbrieft: Die alte Tante Rockmusik wird in all ihren Facetten gefeiert. Die Leidenschaft und Intensität, mit der Erik Cohen und Bandkollegen ihre Songs soweit auf die Bühne brachten, lassen nur wenig Zweifel daran, dass sie auch diese Parties wieder zu echten Ausrufezeichen werden lassen.

GBH ANNONCE NEW ALBUM ‘MOMENTUM’ OUT NOVEMBER 17 ON HELLCAT RECORDS

On November 17 punk stalwarts GBH will release a new album Momentum on Hellcat Records. Momentum (Hellcat Records, release November 2017) is the new album by punk stalwarts GBH. “We’re always looking forward,” says Colin Abrahall (vocals), “next gig, next tour, next album. For us, it is all about momentum. At this point if we stopped moving forward we’d just fall over”.

Momentum was recorded at Muther’s Studio in GBH’s hometown of Birmingham, England. Colin explains: “We laid down all kinds of takes on the songs which made the mixing interesting as we’d send it all off to Michael (Rosen – Engineer) and him and Lars (Fredericksen – Rancid) would send back tracks. You’d think something was maybe a glitch or whatever and it’d come back and we’d listen and think ‘that’s f*cking amazing’!”
GBH formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England. GIRLPOOL – Auf Tour im September
Nach ihrem vielgelobten Album POWERPLAN, das im Mai auf ANTI RECORDS erschien, kommt das LA Duo nun auf Deutschland Tour.
Das Info beschreibt das Album so:
The 12 tracks that compose Powerplant grow and burn with greater fire than the duo have possessed heretofore. Both bandmates were heavily inspired by Elliott Smith, the Cranberries, the Cocteau Twins, Brian Eno, Arthur Russell, and Graham Nash; the influence of each appear in the record's deliberate and intricate guitar work ("Fast Dust," "She Goes By") as well as its embrace of dissonant noise ("Corner Store," "Soup").

JAIMI FAULKNER - Albumrelease, Soundcloudlink und Tourdaten
Heute, am 25.08. erscheint " BACK ROAD" das neue Album des australischen Songwriters JAIMI FAULKNER.
Das von Faulkner selbst produzierte Album reflektiert sowohl die entspannte Atmosphäre im Studio als aber auch ein unverkennbares Live-Feeling. Womit es ein deutliches Stück näher an die schweisstreibenden Live Shows gerückt ist, als alle Vorgänger. Wer Jaimi Faulkner live gesehen hat, weiß, dass er ein hervorragender und im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes ausgezeichneter Gitarrist ist. Gesegnet mit einer wandelbaren Stimme wechselt er auf BACK ROAD spielend zwischen Uptempo Rock Songs, ruhigen Americana bzw klassischen Songwriter beeinflussten Stücken und einer guten Handvoll erdiger Blues Nummern.

Um die Vorfreude auf ihr neues Album "All We Know Of Heaven, All We Need Of Hell" (Rise Records/BMG/Warner/ADA) noch ein wenig mehr zu schüren, zeigten PVRIS bei Out.com das erst kürzlich das neue Video zu "Anyone Else"!
HEUTE ERSCHEINT nun endlich das Album.
“The first verse was written at the beginning of heartbreak—that feeling when you first leave someone yet you feel like a part of you will always belong to them", beschreibt Sängerin Lyndsey Gunn. “The second verse was written a year later. [It’s] a different mindset, mostly reflecting on the toxicity and possessiveness of that same love. It is ambiguous as to what the ending perspective is... who do I belong to in the end? Myself or my past lover?”

QUICKSAND – Neu bei Epitaph Records / ?Interiors“: Erstes Album seit 22 Jahren im November
Großartige Nachrichten aus dem Hause QUICKSAND: Die NY-Post-Hardcore-Band hat für den 10. November bei Epitaph Records mit "Interiors" ihr neues und seit 22 Jahren (!) erstes Album angekündigt! Hört euch bereits jetzt die erste Single "Illuminant" bei Spotify an.
"Interiors" wurde von Will Yip (Title Fight, The Menzingers, Pianos Become The Teeth) produziert und steht dafür, was QUICKSAND auch nach all den Jahren noch immer ausmacht - zeigt aber neben den Post-Hardcore-Einflüssen der vergangenen Jahrzehnte auch die Nähe zu Indie-Rock-Bands in dieser Zeit.
Frontmann Walter Schreifels kommentiert dies mit: "It was all just about being ourselves and who we were as well as who we are."

Rise Records freut sich, mit Valleyheart eine neue Band im Roster begrüßen zu dürfen!
Um das Signing angemessen zu feiern, hat die Rock-Band aus Massachusetts ein neues Video zu ?Nowadays“ veröffentlicht und außerdem verkündet, ihre nach dem Song benannte EP erneut über ihr neues Label zu veröffentlichen – remixed, remastered und mit zwei ergänzenden Songs!
Ab Herbst wollen Valleyheart die Arbeit an ihrem Debütalbum angehen, welches für das Frühjahr 2018 erwartet wird.
