(November 7 , 2017)- (November 6, 2017)- Today, multi-platinum artist AWOLNATION announced the release of their third studio album, Here Come The Runts, on February 2, 2018. Fans can preorder the album starting tomorrow at and receive instant downloads of ‘Seven Sticks of Dynamite,’ and current single ‘Passion,’ which was the #1 most added at Alternative Radio and currently #14 on the Alt Radio charts.

Serving as a follow up to the platinum-certified debut album Megalithic Symphony, and 2015’s Run, which included No. 1 hit “Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)” as well as Top 5 tracks “I Am” and “Woman Woman,” AWOLNATION’s third undertaking sees Aaron Bruno once again at the helm producing, writing and recording. “With this record I really wanted to make a rock n’ roll/pop album.” says Bruno. “And I say ‘pop’ how I grew up listening to it, in the sense of Dire Straits or Born In The U.S.A or The Cars or Tom Petty.”

Bruno spent 2016 crafting the album in his home studio nestled in the coastal mountain range separating the Pacific Ocean and the suburbs of Los Angeles where he grew up. The secluded location is reflected throughout the album. “The record definitely has a feel to it that seems parallel to the vibe of this mountain and the land,” Bruno notes. “It’s like a non-GMO record. There’s no fake shit on there, none of the vocals are tuned. It’s all real playing.”

In support of Here Come The Runts, AWOLNATION will be embarking on a headlining tour with support from Nothing But Thieves on February 11th in Toronto, and touring the States until mid-March before crossing the pond for a European/UK run throughout the month of April.

"That was also a time of intense social anxiety", erklärt er. "The Gulf War, the LA riots - everything became crankes up. Then a few years later there was the earthquake we live through, which also made for a time of uneasiness. I was a heightened state when I wrote that stuff - as I am now."

Band : Glen Hansard
Album : Between Two Shores
VÖ : 19.01.2018
Label : ANTI- / Indigo
Website :

Press release (offizielle Info folgt))

Marking his third solo album, singer-songwriter Glen Hansard will release Between Two Shores on January 19, 2018 via Anti-. Following up 2015's GRAMMY nominated Didn't He Ramble, and his 2012 solo debut Rhythm and Repose, the ten-track collection was produced by Hansard himself for the first time. The culmination of more than six years of writing and recording, Between Two Shores came together in only a matter of weeks. This past March, Hansard booked himself time at Black Box Studios in France with the original idea of taking inventory of his songbook. Working again with former Frames bandmate and producer David Odlum, Hansard was in search of a direction for his next record. As he trove through his previous sessions, various ideas and home recordings, a sketch of an unplanned record began to take shape. The aptly titled "Setting Forth" became the catalyst for the direction Hansard hoped to achieve with Between Two Shores. Recorded with drummer extraordinaire Brian Blade and members of his Fellowship Band the song tackles themes of self-doubt in a time when it's impossible not to be riddled with uncertainty. The album's lead track "Time Will be the Healer" is a hopeful plea to a forlorn lover that also speaks to the way forward in the current social climate. Indeed, it would be impossible not to in some way address the politics of the day, which Hansard does in "Wheels on Fire" and its refrain of "We will overcome!"

......Hansard is a founding member of The Frames who celebrated 25 years as a band in 2015. He is one half of The Swell Season, which also features pianist Marketa Irglova. Together in 2007 they wrote the music for and starred in the movie Once. The song "Falling Slowly" from the film was awarded the Academy Award for Best Original song. In 2013 the film was adapted for Broadway as Once, The Musical, winning eight Tony Awards including the top musical prize itself and an Olivier award in London for outstanding achievement in music.

Band : Curtis Harding
Album : Face Your Fear
VÖ : 27.10.2017
Label : ANTI- / Indigo
Website :

“I am large, I contain multitudes.” — Walt Whitman, “Song of Myself”

Simply calling Curtis Harding a “soul man” feels reductive. Yes, his music is undoubtedly soulful and his songwriting is both evocative and provocative, but there’s more to his music than the stock imagery the label conjures. Harding’s voice conveys pain, pleasure, longing, tenderness, sadness and strength—a full gamut of emotions. Yet still, “soul man” seems too simple a description for musician like Harding, a man who has lived multiple lives as a musician, participated in different scenes, and brought all those varied sounds and experiences together to carve out his own unique niche. The culmination of his experimentation is his latest masterwork, Face Your Fear.

To understand Curtis Harding, the singer-songwriter, drummer, guitarist and producer, one must first understand his musical origins. For Harding, it all began in his birthplace, Saginaw, Michigan. It was there that his church-going mother, a singer herself, first exposed him to the sound and spirit of gospel music. He sang and played drums in church with his family, and songs like Mahalia Jackson’s stirring rendition of “Elijah Rock” left an indelible mark on him. While his mom’s gospel records praised the sacred, his big sister’s rap tapes showed him the beauty in secular music. He looked up to his big sis, an amateur rapper herself in the vein of MC Lyte, and before long young Curtis Harding was writing his own rhymes. After a nomadic childhood of moving Harding put down roots in his adopted home of Atlanta — the perfect place for an intellectually curious young man to broaden his musical horizons.

Album : Enough About Me
VÖ : 24.11.2017
Label/Vertrieb: Make My Day Records / Indigo
Bandwebsite :

Kanada, Winnipeg. Wohlklang in Tönen.

ENOUGH ABOUT ME ist Tragik und großes Gefühl. Persönlich, reflektierend und doch beschwingt. Wohldosierter Optimismus.

Band : Quicksand
Album : Interiors
VÖ : 10.11.2017
Label : Epitaph Records
Website :

Interiors is Quicksand’s best album yet. It sounds like nothing else you are going to hear this year.

It arrives deliberately unannounced, two decades after the pioneering post-hardcore quartet’s last album. Made completely on the band’s own terms, Interiors has a power, strength and subtlety that will likely stun you. There are no wasted notes, no flab, and no excess whatsoever. It is absolutely perfect. “This struck a chord, where we felt this is actually something that could represent us now,” says bassist Sergio Vega. “It doesn’t sound like a third album a couple of decades later. It’s a piece of work that we really, really can back.” That may be an understatement: Interiors is breathtaking in its surging, sculptured sonic attack, a welcome reminder that the band’s longtime status as musical innovators is not undeserved.

To make the record, the band first had to return to the beginning—to the purity of why Quicksand started making music in the first place. In the process, they made a great record that speaks to their past—but, more essentially, to their present and future. “First we went out and made the record we wanted to make, with the person we wanted to make it with,” says drummer Alan Cage. “Then we went with a finished product and said ‘OK, who’s going to put this thing out?’ Of course we want to share it, have people listen to it, and create their own relationship with it--but at the core, it is our thing. “I think we landed in a perfect place to do that with epitaph.”

Band : Erik Cohen
Album : III
VÖ : 26.01.2018
Label : RYL NKR Recordings / Rough Trade
Website :

Band : Converge
Album : The Dusk In Us
VÖ : 03.11.2017
Label : Epitaph Records / Deathwish
Website :

Featuring vocalist Jacob Bannon, guitarist Kurt Ballou, bassist Nate Newton, and drummer Ben Koller, The Dusk In Us arrives as the follow-up to Converge’s acclaimed 2012 album All We Love We Leave Behind. Along with landing on Pitchfork’s Best New Music list, All We Love We Leave Behind was called “as skull-cleaving as it is beautiful” by Consequence Of Sound.

Produced by Converge and mixed by Ballou at his renowned Godcity Studios, The Dusk In Us shows the band’s artistic evolution while still capturing their classic sound. As pioneers within the aggressive music arena, Converge formed in Massachusetts in 1990, made their debut with 1994’s Halo in a Haystack, and broke through with their landmark album Jane Doe (a 2001 release praised as “iconic” by the A.V. Club).

Converge’s frontman Jacob Bannon will curate the 2018 edition of Roadburn Festival, taking place April 19-22 in Tilburg (The Netherlands). He will curate the main stage at the 013 venue on Friday, 20 April, and Het Patronaat on Saturday, 21 April. Converge will be appearing at the festival as well, performing The Dusk In Us in its entirety on Thursday, 19 April, and You Fail Me on Friday, 20 April .

Band : Mavis Staples
Album : If All I Was Was Black
VÖ : 17.11.2017
Label : Anti- / Indigo
Website :

The history Mavis recalls from her early years touring with her family as The Staple Singers, the prejudice, ugliness and danger, well it’s all still here. In response, the singer has delivered If All I Was Was Black, ten songs about contemporary America today, a present day filled with ghosts of the past. "Nothing has changed," Mavis remarked in early August, just days before neo-Nazis marched with swastika flags in Charlottesville, Virginia, as a young woman was murdered. "We are still in it.”

If All I Was Was Black is Mavis' third collaboration with songwriter and producer (and Wilco frontman) Jeff Tweedy. Their first partnership in 2010, You Are Not Alone, won a Grammy Award for Best Americana album. Their second effort together, One True Vine, was a Grammy nominee. But If All I Was Was Black marks the first time Tweedy has composed an entire album of original songs for Mavis' legendary voice and a nation she's uniquely poised to address.

In the wake of the current race-baiting and rhetoric of exclusion appearing not just on the streets, but issuing from statehouses and even the White House, Mavis and Tweedy found themselves completely in sync and wanting to say something about the fissures dividing the country. "We're not loving one another the way we should," Mavis confided, as if sharing the secret to happiness, or something better. "Some people are saying they want to make the world great again, but we never lost our greatness. We just strayed into division.”

Band : Deuce
Album : Invincible
VÖ : 01.12.2017
Label : Better Noise Records
Website :

Once again, DEUCE proves that he can’t be stopped on his second full-length album, Invincible [out December 1st on Five Seven Music]. Donning his signature mask, dropping bulletproof bars over rock-powered beats, and firing off hypnotic hooks, the Los Angeles-born and Portland-based singer, rapper, and producer vies for sonic immortality with these 14 big and bold bangers. For him, they represent the next natural step from his 2012 breakthrough Nine Lives.

“This is the sequel to my debut,” he exclaims. “When you have nine lives, you can’t die. You’re Invincible. I want this music to live forever.” He’s done everything to ensure that it will. After founding, fronting, and fueling Hollywood Undead and the group’s platinum-certified debut Swan Songs, DEUCE emerged as a prolific presence of his own on Nine Lives. His first solo outing impressively sold over 100K copies to date and spawned the smash “America”—which closed out 2012 as the “year’s #2 biggest-selling rock track” and generated over 9.5 million YouTube/VEVO views and 6.2 million Spotify streams. Moreover, Loudwire recognized him as “New Artist of the Year” in 2013 as he relentlessly toured alongside everyone from Shinedown to Kottonmouth Kings and appeared on festivals such as Rock on the Range. A sought-after collaborator, From Ashes to New tapped his talents for “The Last Time” during 2016. Along the way, he quietly worked on what would become Invincible between Los Angeles and Portland, collaborating closely with guitarist James Kloeppel.

Band : Asking Alexandria
Album : s/t
VÖ : 15.12.2017
Label : Sumerian Records / ADA Warner
Website :

Rock is dead? That’s fake news. Asking Alexandria is all the evidence we need.

ASKING ALEXANDRIA, alive with vibrant potency and empowering authenticity, stand in joyous defiance of the tired cynicism that would declare the death of rock.

Asking Alexandria have earned a place among the most streamed, downloaded, watched, and altogether listened to bands in a generation, combining the innovation of modern active rock with the traditional attitude of the culture’s trailblazers.

No matter what the pundits proclaim, clearly the real fans are onto something else. The social media accounts representing Danny Worsnop (vocals), Ben Bruce (guitar), Cameron Liddell (guitar), Sam Bettley (bass), James Cassells (drums), and the band overall constitute a combined follower count well over 10 million strong.

They’ve shared the stage with Guns N’ Roses, Green Day, Alice In Chains, and Avenged Sevenfold; toured in support of Slipknot, Korn and Bullet For My Valentine; co-headlined with Black Veil Brides; joined Warped Tour and Rockstar Mayhem; played every major rock festival in the world; and headlined sold out theater tours.

Asking Anthems “The Final Episode” and “Not the American Average” were both certified gold by the RIAA for single sales in excess of 500,000 each. The music videos for those two singles alone amassed over 100 million views on YouTube. “The Death of Me,” “Moving On,” and “A Prophecy” together account for over 100 million more. The videos from The Black were viewed 70 million times.

Band : Swedish Death Candy
Album : s/t
VÖ : 24.11.2017
Label : Hassle Records / Rough Trade
Website :

You need this band, you need this video and you need this album in your life. Swedish Death Candy are psychedelic, yes, but not many bands can boast to be able to combine that with crunching heaviness, melodic power and mind-bending dynamics. They surpass their peers and they are about to prove this with the brand new video for ‘Last Dream’ and the announcement of their self-titled debut album due for release on 10th November. To celebrate the band will be taking their stunning live show on the road with a slew of live dates including a UK Tour through November.

Lead single ‘Last Dream’ hooks you in with a tectonic drum fill before hitting you with a riff so huge it sets a bar you assume won’t be reached but is consistently surpassed throughout the song. The video has been constructed from publically available found footage from 1968-1978 and follows a Clockwork Orange-style narrative interpretation of a ‘Last Dream’, using startling imagery and editing techniques to disorientate as well as enthrall.

Frontman Louis Perry describes: ‘The track is about trying to move on/move away from stuff that's negative/toxic. But it's also about the alluring nature of these things. It's also about how time fades when you're stuck in a particular mindset or relationship or state. Lastly, it's obviously about dreams; recurring dreams, and dreams that remind you of the past. It's not all negative though, it's also about how these experiences can be fun in the moment’.

Band : Like Moths To Flames
Album : Dark Divine
VÖ : 03.11.2017
Label : Rise Records / BMG / Warner
Website :

Like Moths To Flames conjure the type of anthems that move crowds and evoke each listener’s deeply rooted passions, as evidenced by the millions of streams accumulated by songs like “Bury Your Pain,” “No King,” “The Worst in Me,” “Wither,” and “You Won’t Be Missed” (which alone accounts for 5 million views on YouTube). Tours with bands like All That Remains, The Devil Wears Prada, and Memphis May Fire cemented their status as a live act worthy of admiration.
Album debuts on the Billboard 200 chart; high-profile stints on Vans Warped Tour, The AP Tour, Scream It Like You Mean It; headlining tours supported by bands like Crown The Empire, The Color Morale, and Palisades; the five-piece Columbus, Ohio metalcore monster is among the standard bearers of the genre.
Produced by Erik Ron (Attila, New Years Day, Set It Off), Dark Divine is the breathtaking result of experience, enthusiasm, and renewed vigor, an effort destined to ensure longevity for the band within an underground scene dominated by fading trends. Fronted by vocalist Chris Roetter and cofounding member Aaron Evans (bass/vocals), Like Moths To Flames have hit a creative high on album number four. It’s an electrifying showcase for what Roetter, Evans, Jeremy Smith (guitar), Zach Pishney (guitar), and Greg Diamond (drums) can achieve, with dedication and the hard won lessons learned while on the road.

Band : Nahko
Album : My Name Is Bear
VÖ : 20.10.2017
Label : Side One Dummy / Cargo
Website :

Während der großflächige Sound von Medicine For The People’s sechs Mann starker – momentan pausierender – Band das hatte, was ihnen weltweit ausverkaufte Konzerte bescherte, kommt “My Name Is Bear” mit einem wesentlich leichteren, sommerlichen Gefühl.

“My Name Is Bear ist eigentlich das Prequel zu den Medicine For The People Alben.

Band : Lonely The Brave
Album : Things Will Matter (Redux)
VÖ : 10.11.2017
Label : Hassle Records / Rough Trade
Website :

Lonely The Brave have been deliberately quiet these last few months, working on new material and reassessing what has come before. This has been all the more noticeable because before then, they had never stopped: last year alone saw them secure a no.1 on the rock chart with their second LP “Things Will Matter”, sell-out a headline tour and play main support on a hugely successful European tour with Biffy Clyro, followed with a thematically linked series of EP’s which have shown the sheer depth of strong material that was available to them around that second record.

But despite their successes, Lonely The Brave have never been like their peers, never calculated the game in quite the same way they have, never shot from the same angle. From their stage dynamics, to their influences, to covering the likes of Bjork, Pink Floyd and Antony & The Johnsons, they have always been proud of their differences and in what has staunchly set them apart from the others who have now fallen by the wayside. They followed the release of their critically acclaimed debut “The Day’s War” with an extended version including several Redux tracks that reinvented material rather than simply stripped it back and they follow this theme of insular reinvention again now on a full Redux album version of “Things Will Matter”. Melody and heart will always be at the centre of what they do, but Lonely The Brave are here to prove once again that they will always to continue to do things that other bands can’t.

Band : Jasper Sloan Yip
Album : Post Meridiem
VÖ : 27.10.2017
Label : Afterlife Music / Membran
Website :

...Ten years after his debut backyard performance, as Jasper sits on his most realized collection of songs yet. Produced by John Raham (Dan Mangan, Frazey Ford, Dralms), Post Meridiem refines the elements he has become known for, with eloquent reflections of life and loss woven through arrangements that climb from whispered confessions to soaring soundscapes. As Jasper puts it, “Continuing the pattern of my previous releases, Post Meridiem is a self-portrait. Or rather, a series of vignettes that, when considered together, give a sense of the whole. It is reflective by design; a distorted recollection of one's own life created with the hope that listeners will see some part of themselves somewhere in the hazy patch-work narrative before them.”

Post Meridiem will be released in October 2017 on Afterlife Music, and distributed by Membran. It will be supported with tour dates around Canada as well as a return to Europe – perhaps inspiring the next chapter for this introspective troubadour.

Band : GBH
Album : Momentum
VÖ : 17.11.2017
Label : Hellcat / Epitaph Records / Indigo
Website :

Momentum was recorded at Muther’s Studio in GBH’s hometown of Birmingham, England. Colin explains: “We laid down all kinds of takes on the songs which made the mixing interesting as we’d send it all off to Michael (Rosen – Engineer) and him and Lars (Fredericksen – Rancid) would send back tracks. You’d think something was maybe a glitch or whatever and it’d come back and we’d listen and think ‘that’s f*cking amazing’!”

GBH formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England. The band have released 11 albums, including City Baby Attacked By Rats (1982, Clay), City Babys Revenge (1982, Clay), Midnight Madness and Beyond (1986, Rough Justice), No Need To Panic (1987, Rough Justice), A Fridge Too Far (1989, Rough Justice), From Here To Reality (1990, Rough Justice), Church of the Truly Warped (1992, Rough Justice), Punk Junkies (1996, We Bite), Ha Ha (2002, Go Kart), Cruel and Unusual (2004, Idol), Perfume and Piss (2010, Hellcat).

Band : Direct Hit / PEARS
Album : Human Movement
VÖ : 03.11.2017
Label : Fat Wreck / Edel
Website :;

On November 3, FAT will release Human Movement, a split album from Direct Hit and PEARS. This 12 track scorcher features five new songs from each band, plus one cover of their counterpart’s material. Check out what front-man Nick Woods from Direct Hit, and Brian Pretus from PEARS had to say about joining forces:

Nick Woods: “We’re really proud of how this record turned out, not only because all the tunes on it are rippers, but because we got to collaborate on it with some of our best friends. Splits like these rarely work with everyone involved playing to the others’ strengths. I’m really glad the stars aligned here in a way where the whole thing came together as a unified release, from one of the coolest record labels in the biz right now.”

Brian Pretus: “We’ve been talking about doing this for a long time, since like one of our first tours, which was with Direct Hit. It’s pretty surreal that we finally got to make it happen, and I couldnt be happier with how both sides of this thing turned out.”
