Die kanadischen Alternative/Rock/Metal-Hoffnungsträger SPIRITBOX, gehören sicherlich zu der Sorte Bands, die sich über zu wenig organischen Hype nicht beklagen müssen. Allein der Clip zur letzten Single „Circle With Me“ drang binnen weniger Tage in den siebenstelligen Klickbereich vor.
Die bislang erschienenen Singles verzeichnen bereits über 75 Millionen Streams. Nun kündigen SPIRITBOX für den 17.09. ihr langerwartetes Debüt-Album "Eternal Blue" auf Rise Records an!
Courtney LaPlante, die Sängerin von Spirtbox, kommentiert die Ankündigung ihres Debütalbums: "Wir sind sehr gespannt darauf, unser Album zu veröffentlichen, es ist ein Werk, an dem wir seit über zwei Jahren gearbeitet haben. Der Aufnahmeprozess lag wegen der Pandemie lange auf Eis. Es war eine neue Erfahrung, nicht wie gewohnt und ganz selbstverständlich ein neues Album aufzunehmen.“ Ich muss sagen, obwohl wir nie vorhatten, so lange mit der Platte zu warten, denke ich, dass es den Songs geholfen hat, stärker zu werden. Ich bin so glücklich mit jedem einzelnen Song, dass ich wünschte, ich könnte jeden einzelnen als Single mit einem Musikvideo veröffentlichen. Sie spiegeln alle verschiedene Momente und Einflüsse in unserem Leben wider. Wir hatten genug Zeit, um genau die Musik zu veröffentlichen, die wir in die Welt hinausbringen möchten, ohne Kompromisse eingehen zu müssen. Jede einzelne Note und jede einzelne Silbe ist die Musik, von der wir immer geträumt haben und wir sind sehr stolz darauf."
Die Album-Ankündigung folgt auf die Single-Veröffentlichung "Circle With Me", der u.a. in den Billboard-Charts auf Platz 1 der Hard Rock Digital Song Sales landete und bis heute bereits 4,3 Millionen Streams erreicht.
Vor "Circle With Me" veröffentlichte die Band letztes Jahr zwei bahnbrechende Hit-Singles - das herzzerreißende und jenseitige "Constance“und das unerbittlich brutale "Holy Roller“ (zu dem es auch einen Remix feat. Ryo Kinoshita gibt), das auf Platz 25 der Billboard's Hot Hard Rock Songs debütierte und als #1 Song des Jahres 2020 auf SiriusXM's Liquid Metal in die Charts kam.

Named after a device some believe is capable of communicating with the dead, there’s a sense of the paranormal running through all that Spiritbox do, but this is a group of artists who are very much brimming with life and creating something remarkable with their music. The band released Constance Reimagined this past weekend, in conjunction with The Grammy Museum COLLECTION:live #spotlightsaturdays in partnership with BMG.
The band performed an incredible acoustic rendition of the song featuring a string quartet and filmed in a church.
Having toured the world many times over with their previous bands - metal outfit iwrestledabearonce (Courtney and Mike) and pop punk band Living With Lions (Bill) - Spiritbox absorbed the highs and lows of living as working musicians and decided to try a different and more sustainable approach when it came to releasing their music.
In doing so they quickly garnered a cult-like online following which has led to over 75 million streams across all platforms and sell outs on every physical release and most merch items they've released to date.
Towards the end of 2020 they announced that they had signed with world renowned label, Rise Records in partnership with Pale Chord. The band are scheduled to perform on major festival line-ups across Europe and the US this year.
