Die originale PM zur Single wie folgt:

Angels & Airwaves have released a new single and video, “Losing My Mind.” The video features frontman Tom DeLonge’s alter-ego Disco, brother to Boomer from blink-182’s “First Date” music video.  The video sees Disco on a grand adventure through the Las Vegas strip late at night alongside TikTok dance sensation, Rampage. The official video’s release also comes with another, more edgy director’s cut video that is now live on the band’s website.

The infectious track and video are the band’s third this year as they prepare to release their sixth studio album LIFEFORMS on September 24. Additionally, this Saturday, July 31, the band will be performing at Lollapalooza (Lakeshore Stage, 7:45pm).

“I wanted to write a song about a totally insane idea that would never happen, like, what if our own country was being torn apart by racists, a pandemic, and domestic terrorism, but all at the same time… you know, just normal made up shit that would never happen,” said Tom Delonge about “Losing My Mind.”

In 2021 the band has released the soaring “Euphoria” on May 19, and then most recently “Restless Souls” on June 15.

US Band THE CONNELLS hingewiesen.

Full Time Hobby)

über Full Time Hobby erscheint.

London born, Nashville based Spencer Cullum debut solo album, Spencer Cullum’s Coin Collection may pay homage to the ’60s and ‘70s psych-pop, folk and proto prog heroes of his homeland. But with a supporting cast of fellow Music City stage and studio aces like guitarist Sean Thompson and multi-instrumentalist Luke Reynolds, as well as singing and writing partners like Caitlin Rose, Andrew Combs, Erin Rae, Annie Williams and James “Skyway Man” Wallace — he’s bringing a bit of Britain to Tennessee.

His new single Seaside was inspired from missing the Cornish coastline of his home:  "Seaside has a different story each verse. Innocent enjoyment as a child, how it can be a place of reflection and fear whilst it also taking note of a environmental consciousness."

“I wanted to write a very quintessential English folk record, but with really good Nashville players.” Cullum says of his Canterbury Scene conjuring album Coin Collection, name-checking Kevin Ayers, Robert Wyatt, Fairport Convention and Sandy Denny. The album manifests his love for psych-prog ground-breakers the Soft Machine, digs deep into cerebral ambient inspirations like Robert Fripp and Brian Eno and even krautrock icons NEU! “I’ve always wanted to mix krautrock music into folk and psychedelia,” he explains.

Madi Diaz – neue  Single/Video “Resentment”, Album History Of A Feelingerscheint am 27.08.

Video Link - “Resentment”,

“Madi Diaz has a voice that erupts like a geyser.’” - NYLON

“A slow burning, passionate ballad...It certainly has a lot of heart to it.” - The Needle Drop

“[‘Woman In My Heart’ is] a saccharine blend of guitars and building percussion, with Diaz’s vocals resonating through it all.” - Paste

Nashville-based songwriter Madi Diaz reveals the final pre-release single/video, “Resentment,” from her forthcoming album, History Of A Feeling, out August 27th via ANTI-, and announces a 2021 tour. Diaz has released a string of powerful singles, and today’s “Resentment” is resonant and heartbreakingly honest. The song, written by Diaz, Wrabel, and Jamie Floyd, originally appeared on Kesha’s last album and featured Sturgill Simpson and Brian Wilson. In Diaz's version of the song, the rawness of the emotional reaction she is singing about matches the recording - stripped back to only vocals and guitar: “I don’t hate you babe it’s worse than that // Cause you hurt me and I’m more than sad // I’ve been building up this thing for months // Resentment.” The accompanying video directed by $ECK  at the Four Lane Auto Salvage in Nashville picks up where the video for “New Person, Old Place” left off. Diaz wanders around the junkyard, letting her emotions out on the surrounding wreckage.

“It felt completely and strangely cathartic  walking around ruin and wreckage in the salvage yard making the ‘Resentment’ video,” says Diaz. “It was somehow representative of all the feelings I’ve let sit and rot and rust, probably becoming more hazardous with time and neglect. It was almost a kind of joyful act smashing up cars like maybe I was crushing and compounding my own resentments. Basically it’s cheap therapy and I highly recommend it. I loved making this video and I think Seck has such a beautiful eye…somehow he made poetry out of something pretty brutal.”

GLOO  -  neue Single „Swimming In Your Sea“ online, Album "How Not To Be Happy" (Hassle Records / Cargo) am 27.08.

GLOO legen mit "How Not To Be Happy" (Hassle Records / Cargo) am 27.08. ihr zweites Album vor.

(Post-)Grunge zündet so manche effektive, direkte Rock-Rakete.

South-coast 3 piece indie-punks GLOO have announced new single 'Swimming In Your Sea' which is taken from the bands high anticipated new album 'HOW NOT TO BE HAPPY' out 27th August via Hassle Records.

Listen to 'Swimming In Your Sea' HERE.

Speaking on the new song the band said - "Gloo’s aim has always been to help people escape, whilst at the same time evolving with each release we put out. This song for us does exactly that, but this time proudly showcasing our other inspirations with a slightly more laid-back cocktail whilst still giving you enough distortion to smash your glass when the chorus comes.

"The writing of ‘Swimming In Your Sea’ was one of them rare and insane times where the song was written from start to finish in about half an hour! I (Tom) was actually kind of drifting in and out of a film and fucking around on the guitar playing the main riff from ‘Serve the Servants’ by Nirvana when I changed it out of boredom and suddenly my ear perked up with this new modified version I had subconsciously been playing. As soon as I heard my new riff I was like I’ve gotta finish this and did!"

"The scene in the film I was half watching was a clear blue swimming pool somewhere hot and just looked so inviting that I wanted to jump right into the TV and start swimming in it and that’s where the song name and lyric came from. I was also going through a bit of turmoil at the time with a shit relationship and I really liked the idea that the song had a hidden dark theme where in a bitter sweet way, she (my-ex) was this perfectly blue crustal ocean you couldn’t resist, but deep down you know you’re so completely and utterly engulfed in it that you’re too deep to get out and could drown. In terms of live, Swimming in Your Sea has to be one of our most powerful and transformative songs aesthetically that we’ve ever made, especially in an uplifting way. When we first played this in the room together, it almost made the room turn blue and start dripping water. With a little help from my secret aquatic guitar pedal effect for good measure."

ADA LEA – erste Single DAMN aus dem neuen Album „one hand on the steering wheel the other sewing a garden“ online (24.09. Saddle Creek Records)

THE SORE LOSERS – neues Album ULTRA ELEKTRIC erscheint am 22.10. (Suburban Records), neue Single TIGHTROPE online

Mit der Veröffentlichung des Eröffnungstracks
"Tightrope" kündigen The Sore Losers heute ihr neues fünftes Album an.

(Anti-Records)

Die US Künstlerin Taylor Vick aka BOY SCOUTS kündigt mit der Single THAT’S LIFE HONEY ihr neues Album WAYFINDER an, welches am 01.10. über Anti-Records erscheinen wird.

“Boy Scouts’ Taylor Vick makes music that thrives on intimacy” – San Francisco Chronicle

“Her music is defined by its warm tenderness—twangy guitars, cooing vocals, supportive keys—but she doesn’t necessarily want to be your caretaker.” – Paste

“Though Boy Scouts’ backing tracks are hazy and dreamlike, calling to mind tour mate Jay Som, Vick’s writing is direct, sharp, more bee-sting than butterfly.” - Pitchfork

Oakland, CA’s Boy Scouts aka Taylor Vick has announced her new album Wayfinder today. The follow-up to the acclaimed 2019 album Free Company, Wayfinder has a warm, expansive style that recalls the raw punctures of artists like Lucinda Williams and Alex G with Vick once again showing herself to be a fearless seeker, shedding light on the unanswerable.

The first new song from the record is the wry "That's Life Honey," a fantasy of engineering a painless existence that takes inspiration from George Saunders' short stories.

“This song is about trying to make light of a shitty situation,” Vick explains. “Having a circumstance that sucks, like wanting to go to therapy but you can't afford it, and fantasizing about a world where you could get a chip implanted or have some surgery that rewires your brain and resolves you from whatever problems you have. This song is mostly my attempt at writing a tragicomedy, combined with true experiences of figuring out how to open up to people.”

Ignorance Short Listed for Polaris Music Prize

“Ignorance stands as an invigorating and poignant chapter in an already impressive career.” - Stereogum, #2 Best Albums of 2021 So Far

"Ignorance dives deep into heartbreak and comes up bearing a succession of fantastic songs." - The Guardian, Best Albums of 2021 So Far

“Ignorance [is] an uncommonly moving exploration of the grief and denial that accompanies our inexorable slide into climate crisis.”

- SPIN, Best Albums of 2021 (So Far)

“[Ignorance] is a record whose sound expands to match the size of its conceptual ambition.” - AV Club, Best Albums of 2021 So Far

“[Ignorance] is a stunningly assured plunge into a sleek, buzzing jazz-pop wilderness.” - Paste, #2 Best Albums of 2021 So Far

“Tamara Lindeman treats Ignorance as a breakup-record with her own dying planet.”

- Rolling Stone, Best Albums of 2021 So Far

The Weather Station’s Ignorance is one of the most celebrated albums of 2021 thus far. Last week, it was announced the album has been short-listed for the Polaris Music Prize. Today, Tamara Lindeman presents her Tiny Desk (Home) Concert for NPR Music, filmed once again in the forestry behind the home she grew up in, the same woods that were the backdrop for many of the album’s music videos. The performance highlights The Weather Station’s dazzling sound, as Lindeman’s voice is cool and assured over instrumentation by Kieran Adams (drums), Christine Bougie (guitar), Philippe Melanson (percussion), Karen Ng (saxophone, clarinet), Johnny Spence (keys), and Ben Whiteley (bass). They play four of Ignorance’s tracks: “Tried to Tell You,” “Parking Lot,” “Atlantic,” and “Robber.”

Watch The Weather Station’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert

Additionally, The Weather Station releases a stripped back version of Ignorance standout “Tried To Tell You.” It relies solely on Lindeman’s vocals and soft piano. “I've always had a soft spot for the traditional ballad, for the heart loosening pull of that deep pocket, big feelings, classic kind of song, that you don't hear too often anymore,” says Lindeman. “When we recorded ‘Tried To Tell You,’ it always seemed important to me to capture the subliminal fierceness of the song, to have those strong drums, sharp strings, to preserve the hard edges of it. But as time has passed, and I've played this song alone, I realized it also had a softness to it, that it also works as a classic ballad, a classic song. So I wanted to record a deep pocket big feelings iteration of the song, to sit alongside the album version, as they both feel equally valid to me.”

THRICE – neues Video “SCAVENGERS”, neues Album Horizons/East  am 17.09. digital, am 08.10. physisch

Video Link SCAVENGERS

NEW ALBUM HORIZONS/EAST PRE-ORDER

Fresh off last week’s announcement of their upcoming 11th studio album Horizons/East, California-based rock band Thrice has dropped a visually stunning music video in support of their newest single “Scavengers” today. Directed by DJay Brawner, the video transports viewers to a different world; one of mystery and disguises that leaves viewers unsure of whom to trust and where to turn. Sonically, “Scavengers” is driven by a dark and intricate braid of guitar and drum grooves, while the lyrics challenge listeners to discern between the issues and information that bond us versus those that disintegrate and destroy. Fans can watch the new music video for “Scavengers” here.

Horizons/East is available for pre-order now and will be released September 17 digitally and October 8th physically via Epitaph Records. The album exemplifies art as a work of recognition — the human task of perceiving oneself amid details, disasters, and blessings as a relentlessly relational phenomenon among others. In this, Horizons/East is the rare rock album on which interrelatedness is a theme, painting an adventurous and lush landscape mixed by Scott Evans that the band self-produced and recorded at their own New Grass Studio.

With the new album, the band addresses, with candor and courage, the fragile and awkward arrangements that pass for civilization, while inviting us to dwell more knowingly within our own lives. Without surrendering any of the energy and hard edge of their previous albums, they’ve given us a profoundly meditative work, which serves as a musical summons to everyday attentiveness.

Some of the writing even began with open-ended challenges that the band laid on themselves like building a song using the quartal chords they found in much of the jazz they loved, or taking the Fibonacci sequence and turning it into a guitar riff.

Horizons/East conveys a palpable sense of danger, determination, and possibility.

Formed in 1998, the Orange County-based four-piece is widely regarded as one of the most innovative rock bands of their generation. Featuring frontman Dustin Kensrue, guitarist Teppei Teranishi, bassist Eddie Breckenridge, and drummer Riley Breckenridge.
