A PERFECT CIRCLE – Album-VÖ
Heute veröffentlicht die US-Kultband A PERFECT CIRCLE mit “Eat The Elephant“ (BMG /Warner) das erste Studioalbum, seit dem 2004 erschienenen Longplayer “eMOTIVE“.
Maynard James Keenan kommentiert:
"Einerseits bin ich unglaublich froh, dieses Album nach unserer 14-jährigen Auszeit endlich fertigzustellen", so Keenan. "Doch noch mehr freue ich mich, dass sein Veröffentlichungstermin auf ein ganz besonderes Datum fällt und somit einen größeren Zweck erfüllt: Am 20. April ist der Geburtstag unserer lieben Freundin Carina Round. Sie ist wahnsinnig schwer zufrieden zu stellen. Und natürlich darf ich anmerken, dass auch die Liebhaber bewußtseinserweiternder Substanzen hoch erfreut sein werden! Möge es den Potheads als glorreicher Soundtrack zum Kichern und Knistern ihrer Snacktüten dienen. Daumen gedrückt, Cheech & Chong werden sicher sehr stolz sein!"

DEAFHEAVEN - Neues Album im Juli / 1. Song
Deafheaven kündigen für den 13.07. ihr viertes Studioalbum an, "Ordinary Corrupt Human Love“ ist der Nachfolger des hochgelobten 2015 Albums ”New Bermuda“ auf Anti- Records.

Working again with producer Jack Shirley, Deafheaven have expanded their heavy, kinetic sound to bring in layered psychedelic vocals, jazz-inspired percussion, and intricate piano melodies. Ordinary Corrupt Human Love takes its title from Graham Greene’s The End of the Affair, reflecting a theme of hazy, yearning romanticism threaded throughout the album.
Ordinary Corrupt Human Love’s lead single “Honeycomb” further reveals Deafheaven’s literary sensibilities. With its lyrics referencing Argentinian writer Julio Cortázar (author of the stream-of-consciousness novel Hopscotch), the endlessly captivating track is accompanied by a video that shows glimpses of Deafheaven in the studio and captures their wanderings around San Francisco.
Formed in San Francisco in 2010, Deafheaven (vocalist George Clarke, guitarists Kerry McCoy and Shiv Mehra, and drummer Dan Tracy) made their debut with2011’s Roads To Judah and had an unexpected crossover hit with their 2013 sophomore effort Sunbather. Along with being praised as “one of the best albums of the year” by Stereogum, their third album New Bermuda was hailed as “a brilliant collision of beauty and despair” in Pitchfork’s Best New Music review.

“For 4 years now I have been in my studio recording all day and all night, every day and everynight when I’m not on tour. A song-a-day sounds far-fetched I know… we usually average at least 2 per day. Sorting through all of this has become a task unto itself, I still haven’t caught up or begun to catalog everything I’ve done since 1984 so there is a log jam in the filing and archiving process. This album is a snapshot of the fall of 2016——there have been a lot of tunes recorded before then and even more since then, but this is my second official solo album. These were written for this sole purpose and recorded with the entire lineup: the best band in the world, Ween -- Claude Coleman Jr., Dave Dreiwitz, and Glenn McClelland, also the other best band in the world, the lineup of the DWG -- Mike Dillon, Bill Fowler, Ray Kubian, Scott Rednor, and the other 50 members and usual suspects.“

Zwei Jahre haben sich Desert Mountain Tribe Zeit gelassen für ihr neues Album. Das Trio aus London hat nach ihrem Erstlingswerk “Either That or The Moon“ auf Tour um die Welt verschiedenste Einflüsse entdeckt und verarbeitet. Für die Aufnahmen zum Nachfolger “Om Parvat Mystery“ ziehen sie für einige Wochen auf die Färöer Inseln, und arbeiten dort in einem abgeschiedenen Studio an den neuen Songs, und auch in London entstehen einige Tracks. Produziert wird das Album von der Band in Zusammenarbeit mit James Aparicio, der als Engineer bereits mit so unterschiedlichen Künstlern wie Moby, Depeche Mode oder Frank Turner gearbeitet hat.

Wir freuen uns, mit JERA ON AIR ein weiteres äußerst sympathisches Festival betreuen zu dürfen! Nahe der deutsch-niederländischen Grenze (Ysselsteyn) gelegen, hat es sich über die letzten zwei Jahrzehnte zu einem echten Highlight für Fans von Hardcore, Metalcore, Punk und Rock entwickelt. LINDI ORTEGA - Neuer Song "You Ain´t Foolin´ Me" / Album am 25.05./ Tourdaten
Die kanadische Singer-Songwriterin LINDI ORTEGA wird hierzulande am 25.05. ihr neues Studioalbum – “Liberty" (Shadowbox Music Inc. / Membran) veröffentlichen.
Mit "You Ain´t Foolin´ Me" präsentiert sie nun einen weiteren neuen Song.
Den Song "Comeback Kid“ gibt es hier zu hören.
Die Melodien und Arrangements des Konzeptalbums basieren auf der Arbeit des Oscar-Gewinners Ennio Morricone, der während des Schreibens und der Aufnahmen von Liberty zu Ortegas musikalischer Obsession wurde. Darüber hinaus engagierte sie den Nashville Produzenten Skylar Wilson (Justin Townes Earle, Rayland Baxter), nachdem sie ihre gemeinsame Begeisterung für Quentin Tarantino Filme entdeckte.
“Ich habe zuvor noch nie ein zusammenhängendes Album wie dieses geschrieben“, sagt Linda ”Diese Aufnahme ist anders, da ich tatsächlich einen Schritt zurück mache, weicher bin, sodass ich mehr Nuancen in meinem Gesang zeigen kann, was eine willkommene Herausforderung war. Ich habe mich auch öfter für unvorhersehbare Akkordfolgen entschieden, die das Album musikalischer und interessanter klingen zu lassen.“

London-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Olivia Chaney follows her 2015 Nonesuch debut, The Longest River, with Shelter, due June 15, 2018, on Nonesuch Records. SANGRE DE MUERDAGO – Albumrelease heute, Albumstream online
Das Album "NOITE" der galizischen Band SANGRE DE MUERDAGO, erscheint heute am 20.04., und wurde exklusiv über NOISEY als Albumstream angeboten.
SdM spielen FOLK. Die Bezeichnung Folk darf und sollte man hier nicht mit Folk Musik amerikanischer Prägung verwechseln, eher im Sinne traditioneller galizischer Musik, basierend auf einer sehr ursprünglichen Instrumentierung. Die Band wird ab April auf Tour sein und u.a. auf dem Roadburn Festival (metalfestival) spielen. Steve von Till (Neurosis) outete sich erst kürzlich als großer Fan der Band. Eine sehr spezielle Band, mit einem sehr speziellen Sound und einer immensen Wirkung.

Scott Matthew lacht, als er diesen letzten Satz sagt. Überhaupt lacht er gerade viel. So als sei nicht bloß eine Last von ihm abgefallen, sondern habe etwas Neues, Schönes begonnen, im Leben wie in der Musik. Der Schmerz mag nicht verschwunden sein. Doch Scott scheint auf Ode To Others seinen Blick verändert zu haben, gleichsam von innen nach außen.
“Gott, dein Leben muss so furchtbar sein”, das sei wohl der Eindruck gewesen, den viele Menschen von ihm und seiner Musik über lange Zeit gehabt hätten, sagt Scott heute. “Nach This Here Defeat (2015) bin ich müde geworden, das zu zeigen. Ich wollte nicht, dass sich dies neue Album erneut darum drehen würde. Also habe ich begonnen, Songs über andere Themen und aus anderer Perspektive zu schreiben. Ich habe Oden an Menschen verfasst, die ich liebe oder verehre, auch fiktive Menschen – und an Orte, die in meinem Herzen sind. Das fühlte sich sehr erfrischend an.”

Chicago-based website PopMatters.com unveiled Tami Neilson's new video, "Stay Outta My Business," the first single from her highly anticipated forthcoming album SASSAFRASS!, out June 1st on the Outside Music label.
The video, shot in New Zealand was directed by Anna Duckworth and features a dynamic performance from The O'Neil Twins, also credited with choreographing the video.
Talking about the video, Tami said:
"This song is all sass and strut and I wanted the visuals to represent a celebration of not giving a damn about people's judgements and how freeing that is. I love that this was created by a team of badass females - from Annie and Morgan directing and producing, to the girl-squad of my dreams The O'Neill Twins dancing the hell out of it, to artist Maree Robinson who painted the 1950s-musical-meets-Stepford-wives grocery aisle backdrop, I was surrounded by incredibly talented, strong, confident, creative women and that's a sure-fire recipe for shutting down your local gossip chain!"
Director Anna Duckworth shares:
"We were inspired by old Hollywood musicals where the setting was obviously a stage but the performances were so charismatic it didn't matter. In this musical Tami is the 1960’s Stepford wife turned sassy rabble-rouser and feminist hero. The local supermarket being a hub of gossip, the birthplace of rumour, the home of busy bodies is the perfect setting for this defiant anthem.
Flanked by her girl gang, Tami takes to the shopping aisle to make a stand. She slowly makes her way down the aisle talking loudly with her squad about being sick of the judgement and double standards. But of course, because this is a musical, Tami is singing her frustrations and her gals are dancing up a storm."
