THE ACES präsentieren das Video zu ihrer brandneuen Single “Daydream“ (Red Bull Records/Sony), die seit der Veröffentlichung vor 3 Wochen bei den gängigen Streaming-Dienste bereits über 1.5 Millionen Mal angehört wurde:

“This video was so fun to make and easily a new favorite. Over the years our band has always been described or referred to as a “girl gang”, so we decided to bring that to life in a fun, action packed, classic Hollywood kinda way. When we listen to ‘Daydream’ it makes us think about the best parts of being young, wild, and free. BRUTUS – Neuer Song + Video “Sand“
Heute vor einem Jahr erschien via Hassle Records das hochgelobte BRUTUS-Album “Nest“. Um dieses Ereignis gebührend zu feiern, präsentiert das belgische Trio mit “Sand“ nun einen bislang unveröffentlichten Song.
Das passende Video wurde, vor gerade mal einem Monat im Rahmen einer ausverkauften Show in Ghent aufgenommen:

THE DREAM SYNDICATE – Neuer Song + Videoclip "The Longing" / Album "The Universe Inside" am 10.04. auf ANTI-
THE DREAM SYNDICATE kündigten kürzlich ihr neues Album "The Universe Inside" für den 10. April auf ANTI- an. Mit "The Regulator" zeigte die Band zudem eine erste Kostprobe samt Video, das den Betrachter mit auf eine psychedelische, zwanzigminütige Reise durch New York nimmt. Nun veröffentlichen die Amerikaner den Album-Track "The Longing", zu dem ebenfalls ein sehenswerter Clip vorliegt:
"A friend of mine once said, ‘You ought to write a song about longing,’" erklärt Lead-Sänger und Songwriter Steve Wynn. "This was a few years back but it stuck with me and when I was listening to minutes 20 through 28 of the improvisation that became The Universe Inside I knew that the suggestion had finally found its proper home. This section of music - that followed in real time the part that became “The Regulator” - felt so mournful and lost and adrift and confused, much like longing itself. You think you know where it’s at? The longing is stronger than that. Our resident visual interpreter David Dalglish picked up on that feeling for a video that connected hauntingly to that feeling of distance and memory. And now? Suddenly it all feels very much of the moment. A chasm, sleepless for day and days, rootless, unsettled and alone. All that’s left is the longing."
"The Universe Inside" entstand in einer nächtlichen, achtzigminütigen Studiosession und folgt auf das Album "These Times", das im vergangenen Mai erschien.

FAT WRECK – Neue Videos von THE BOMBPOPS und PEARS
Doppelte Neuigkeiten auf dem Hause Fat Wreck!
THE BOMBPOPS veröffentlichen ein Video zu dem Track "Zero Remorse":
Der Song entstammt dem Album "Death In Venice Beach", das am 13. März erschien. An der Produktion des Albums arbeiteten neben Fat Mike (NOFX) auch Yotam Ben Horin (USELESS ID) sowie Chris Fogal (THE GAMITS). Letzterer nahm bereits das Debüt "Fear of Missing Out" mit auf.

GOOD RIDDANCE – unveröffentlichte Songs für den guten Zweck
GOOD RIDDANCE veröffentlichen in den kommenden Wochen auf Bandcamp vier bislang unveröffentlichte Songs, die es nicht auf das aktuelle Album “Thoughts And Prayers“ (Fat Wreck) geschafft haben. Die Erlöse gehen zu 100% an das World Food Programm (www.wfp.org). Den Anfang macht der Song "Illusion of Control", die drei weiteren folgen wöchentlich, jeweils donnerstags.
Das Statement der Band liest sich wie folgt: “Like many of you, not being able to go out to shows, or get together with friends, has been a kick in the teeth for us. We have discussed ways in which our band can strive to maintain a connection with our friends and fans, and to do our modest part to bring a little joy during this uncertain time. As it turns out, we have a few new, unreleased songs, and we could not think of a better time to share them than right now!
100% of the proceeds from these releases will go to the World Food Programme (www.wfp.org), which is doing exceptional work feeding hungry people across the globe, as well as sending food, financial assistance, and much needed medical supplies, to parts of the world hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic. Inhaltlich besinnen sich die Musiker dabei auf ihre Deutschpunk-Wurzeln zurück. Denn sie zeigen sich solidarisch mit allen Abgehängten und schaffen es gleichzeitig, mit einer geradezu unbarmherzigen Arroganz die schönen Seiten des Lebens zu feiern. “Unser Ansporn war es, Songs zu schreiben, die poppig klingen und dennoch eine politische Message haben“ , erklärt Ronny. Neuer Track anlässlich des Corona-Virus: Fürsorglicher Quarantäne-Aufruf der HARTZ ANGELS
HARTZ ANGELS haben außerdem zu den aktuellen Geschehnissen rund um das Corona-Virus spontan noch einen Track aufgenommen. Da den Jungs sowohl ganze Tag auf dem Sofa als auch die Gesundheit ihrer Mitmenschen wichtig ist, gibt es hier den Titeltrack zur derzeitigen Quarantäne-Lage. CHRISTIAN LEE HUTSON - Single "Talk" aus dem am 29.05. erscheinenden Album "BEGINNERS" (Anti / Indigo)
Produziert von Phoebe Bridgers und mit einem String Arrangement von Nathaniel Walcott (Bright Eyes) veredelt, schwelgt auch TALK in der zarten Melancholie die schon die Vorgänger Single Lose This Number auszeichnete und wie die im November letzten Jahres präsentierte Auskopplung Northsiders von der US Presse hochgelobt wurde. Hutson über den Song: Talk’ is the story of a person, on the verge of parenthood, coming to terms with their relationship with their own absent parent. ” und über den Albumtitel: “I went with Beginners as the title because that’s where I feel like I am in my life—like I’m still just learning and trying to figure out how to navigate the world.”
Background info: Hutson—who also co-wrote a song on the 2018 boygenius EP and two on the 2019 Better Oblivion Community Center LP—and Bridgers recorded Beginners at L.A.’s legendary Sound City Studios, but purposely preserved the homespun quality of his cell-phone-recorded demos. The album mines its subtle textures from Hutson’s warm vocals and graceful guitar work, and also unfolds flashes of sonic brilliance achieved with the help of its guest musicians—including Bridgers herself, as well as Walcott (who created all the string arrangements for the album, in addition to playing trumpet)

Der Singer-Songwriter JESSE MALIN startet am Samstag, den 28. März, sein Live-Stream-Event unter dem Namen “The Fine Art of Self Distancing“ gegen 21 Uhr auf YouTube. Dabei wird der New Yorker Songs performen und einige Anekdoten dazu zum Besten geben.
Malin kommentiert:

NAHKO AND MEDICINE PEOPLE präsentieren mit "Part Problem" einen weiteren neuen Song aus dem Album "Take Your Power Back", das am 15. Mai auf SideOneDummy Records erscheinen wird. Das erste Release nach vier Jahren!
Wie bereits die zuvor veröffentlichten Tracks folgte das Release der Single in Abstimmung mit dem Mondkalender. In diesem Fall mit dem Neumond, der für den spirituellen Neuanfang steht.
NAHKO kommentiert:
"'Part Problem' reflects on the fact that no matter our circumstances or origins, we’re each ultimately responsible for our own path in life. Admitting you’re part of the problem can be difficult, but raising your hand and asking for help when you need it is essential. It’s the only way you can learn to love yourself and forgive yourself.
During this time of great sacrifice and uncertainty, we may naturally get drawn into the harsh edges of fear, chaos, and hysteria, but we have a unique opportunity to ground in and soften amongst it all. What if during this isolation we broke bread with other fears we’ve been harboring? PARKWAY DRIVE – Soundtrack “Viva The Underdogs“ erscheint heute auf Epitaph / Doku-Premiere am 04.04. / Arena-Tour
Die australischen Rock-Giganten PARKWAY DRIVE veröffentlichen heute den Soundtrack, zu der im Januar in über 60 deutschen Kinos ausgestrahlten Band-Doku "Viva The Underdogs“ auf Epitaph!
Neben elf Live-Songs, die während der Headline-Performance des letztjährigen Wacken Open Airs aufgenommen wurden, enthält der Soundtrack mit "Die Leere (The Void)“, "Würgegriff (Vice Grip)" und "Schattenboxen (Shadow Boxing)“ 3 exklusive deutschsprachige Songs. Auf letzterem ist CASPER als Special-Guest mit dabei!

PHOXJAW – kündigen Debütalbum "Royal Swan" für 03.06. auf Hassle Records an / Neue Single + Video "Half House"
PHOXJAW kündigen ihr Debütalbum für den 3. Juni via Hassle Records an. Der Erstling des Quartetts trägt den Titel "Royal Swan" und mit "Half House" liegt zudem gleich eine erste Single vor. Passend dazu zeigen die Briten ein unterhaltsames Video, das es hier zu sehen gibt:
Das Album entstand in fast vollständiger Eigenproduktion und markiert erneut den vielseitigen musikalischen Ansatz, den PHOXJAW vorweisen. Bei den Aufnahmen im walisischen Devil’s Bridge Cottage wurden sämtliche Instrumente getrennt voneinander aufgenommen. Die Gitarrenspuren wurden u.a. in einem Wäscheschrank eingespielt.
"Royal Swan" folgt auf die EPs "Goodbye Dinosaur..." und "A Playground For Sad Adults", die die Band bereits auf Touren mit BLACK PEAKS, PAGAN und LOATHE live präsentierte.

ROYAL REPUBLIC – performen Debütalbum / Live-Stream
Im Rahmen der Corona-Krise haben sich ROYAL REPUBLIC für heute (27.03.) etwas Besonderes überlegt. So werden die Schweden ihr Debütalbum "We Are The Royal" vor leerer Kulisse performen und einen Live-Stream über ihre Facebook-Seite um 21 Uhr anbieten. Im Anschluss an den Gig beantwortet die Band zudem Fragen der Fans.
Gitarrist und Sänger Adam Grahn kommentiert die ungewöhnliche Situation folgendermaßen:
”Most of our gear is locked away at a super secret location somewhere on Earth, so it's clear this has to be a ‘back-to-basics’ kind of thing. Just a couple of amps, CABLES (!!!), drum kit etc. Basically the stuff we used when we did the ‘We Are The Royal Tour’. In fact it’s pretty much THE gear we used back then. We’re excited to play some songs we haven’t played in a very long time. It feels very nostalgic.”
"We Are The Royal" enthält die Singles "All Because of You", "Tommy-Gun", "Underwear" und "Full Steam Spacemachine".

"A lot of images from a lot of different apartments wash over me when I think of this song. It feels like I only remember the mornings. Always waiting on a text, or for someone to pick up the phone. I’ve changed my number since then. It felt natural to film the video in a similar scene, and our director Gus Black nailed the landscape from our first phone call. He understood the deliberate contrast between the energetic soundscape and the desperate lyrics, allowing us to visually mimic the ritual highs and lows of waiting around for the feel-good mailman." “We shot this back in August in an abandoned apartment above a recording studio in Alhambra, California. It was hot AF the day of the shoot but it somehow fed into the mood and tone of the video. The concept now seems fitting for the times we're in... a band playing in an empty room while people sit around doing nothing, just waiting. Love this song and the band.” Gus Black (director)

THE SUICIDE MACHINES – Erstes Album nach 15 Jahren erscheint heute
Die Punkinstitution THE SUICIDE MACHINES veröffentlicht heute mit “Revolution Spring“ ihr erstes Studioalbum nach 15 Jahren.
2006 lösten sich THE SUICIDE MACHINES nach mehr als 15 Jahren Bandgeschichte und sechs Alben auf. "Revolution Spring" ist somit das erste neue Material der Band seit 2005. Sänger Jason Navarro erklärt, wie es zur Wiedervereinigung kam:
“Everyone just kind of got inspired. That’s all. I think we were watching all these other bands ride a wave of nostalgia and we didn’t want to be lumped into that, so we started writing a couple of songs and it went from there.”
Die Aufnahmen des neuen Albums fanden in nur zwölf Tagen mit LESS THAN JAKEs Roger Lima, der die Produktion leitete, statt. Entstanden sind 30 Songs, von denen es ganze 16 auf "Revolution Spring" schafften.
